These Votes Tell Us About How Council Has Served Caledon Residents

Over this term, Caledon Council has made decisions that directly shape how our town grows, spends, protects, and plans for the future. To help residents understand how those decisions were made, we’ve compiled a clear record of key Council votes from officially published meeting minutes.

This is a list of every vote, it highlights the votes that were not unanimous, where councillors split on major issues. These moments matter. They show us patterns in how councillors align with each other, when they break apart, and how those choices impact the people who live here.

My goal is simple, use my skills and capabilities to give Caledon residents clear, accessible, data‑driven information about how their elected officials have voted, so every person in Caledon can see the record for themselves — without spin, without filters, and without barriers.

2022 Council Votes

On November 25, 2022, Caledon Council held an emergency meeting to address the Province’s newly introduced Bill 23 – the More Homes Built Faster Act. Town staff outlined serious concerns about how the legislation would affect Caledon’s environment, finances, and ability to manage growth responsibly.

Council unanimously agreed to formally request that the Province pause Bill 23 and consult with municipalities. The Town warned that the Bill would reduce environmental protections, limit public input, cut development‑charge funding for infrastructure, and shift costs onto local taxpayers.

This emergency meeting reflected the urgency felt across Caledon: residents were already raising alarms about the Bill’s impact on the Greenbelt, local services, and long‑term planning

Town Council Meeting December 13, 2022  all votes carried unanimously — no dissenting (NO) votes were recorded during the meeting.  Mayor Groves and Councillor Kiernan were absent for many of the votes during this meeting
